about

The Perennials are the young married couple of Pete & Amanda Wells. They released their debut EP record last year on Brassland, having made their way into the extended family of Brooklyn artists which the label documents. (The EP was produced by Thomas “Doveman” Bartlett & featured a who’s who of local session musicians.)

The “On Our Way” single memorializes the duo’s move back to the Pacific Northwest — specifically Spokane, Washington where Amanda was raised. It was self-produced by Pete Wells and is a simple, clear-headed haiku about a pair on the move; exploring the nature of personal & creative intimacy; and moving in & out of love:

lyrics

Here, when the wind blows cold
We dream, with the windows closed

Oh, would you follow me
Through the dark, while the whole world sleeps

Say, you’ll come with me this time
Say, that you’ll always be mine
